The Growers' Cut is a special release, cellar door only wine, that pays homage each year to a selected grower whose particular vineyard has best exemplified the season or produced an extraordinary parcel of wine.

----

The 2021 Torbreck The Grower's Cut Shiraz is a special, limited-release Barossa Valley Shiraz celebrating an outstanding vineyard parcel from that year, featuring concentrated dark fruit, spice, and ironstone notes with fine tannins, reflecting the excellent 2021 vintage's balance and aromatic lift, and is built for aging, coming from hand-tended, old vines in the region. It's a prestigious, cellar-door exclusive wine that highlights Torbreck's commitment to old-vine Barossa fruit and traditional, minimal-intervention winemaking, showing the purity of place.

Key Characteristics
Why It's Special
This wine isn't just a regular bottling; it's the winning vineyard parcel of the year, selected by Torbreck's winemakers for its exceptional quality, showcasing the unique terroir and the successful growing season. It represents the pinnacle of the grower's art within the Torbreck family.
Vintage (2021): A strong vintage in Barossa with good rains, leading to high aromatic lift, dense color, and exceptional balance in the wines.
  • Fruit Profile: Expect deep flavors of blackberry, plum, cherry, with hints of spice (cardamom, five-spice) and an earthy/ironstone complexity.
  • Structure: Soft, caressing tannins and a voluptuous mouthfeel, balanced with a structured backbone, suggesting long aging potential.
  • Winemaking: Sourced from select, hand-tended old vines, fermented in traditional vessels, aged in seasoned French oak, and bottled unfined/unfiltered.
  • Exclusivity: A special release, often cellar-door only, awarded to a top-performing grower each year, making it highly sought after.

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
