Charles Joguet, a budding young artist, took over the family Domaine in 1957, a collection of lieux dits in Chinon. Charles focused on the separate vinification and bottling of each unique terroir, a practice continued by the Genet family since 1985, today led by Anne- Charlotte and Jacques Genet. The cabernet franc and chenin blanc vineyards, Certified Organic since 2016, reflect the rich diversity of Chinon: the gravelly terraces offering lighter, perfumed wines; the calcareous-clay slopes more structured, age-worthy wines.
