Dalwhinnie

World Renowned

"Sit back and watch, as Dalwhinnie etches a name for itself, not only among the great wines of Australia, but the world" – Huon Hooke

Nestled in a natural amphitheatre near Moonambel in the Pyrenees, Dalwhinnie is one of Victoria’s highest and most remote vineyards. Planted in the early 1970s by Ewan Jones, the 16-hectare site sits at 595m above sea level, with lean granite soils and a unique bowl shaped topography that creates a cool, protected  microclimate. The result? Wines of both finesse and flavour, with exceptional site expression. Now under the guidance of acclaimed winemaker Julian Langworthy and experienced viticulturist Sam Bartlett, Dalwhinnie is entering an exciting new chapter. With a focus on Chardonnay, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon, the vineyard is dry-grown and meticulously divided into small, low-yielding blocks. Julian’s vision for regional expression, paired with Sam’s deep local knowledge, is elevating Dalwhinnie to new heights—producing wines that are distinctive, elegant, and among the finest in the country.
