Jacquesson - Champagne
COMING SOON
-
Founded in 1798, it’s one of Champagne’s oldest houses.
-
Since the Chiquet brothers (Jean-Hervé & Laurent) took over in the 1980s, it has become synonymous with precision, low intervention, and terroir focus, much like top grower-producers.
-
They work extensively with estate vineyards (about 30 hectares they own/manage) and source carefully from trusted growers — so they don’t fully fit the “grower RM” category but operate like one.
-
Known for the 700-series cuvées (e.g., Cuvée 742, 743, etc.), which are exceptional blends from a base vintage with reserve wines, highlighting each year’s personality rather than striving for uniformity like big houses do.
-
They also produce outstanding single-parcel bottlings (Lieu-Dits) like Dizy Corne Bautray, Avize Champ Caïn, and Ay Vauzelle Terme — all rare, terroir-expressive, and among the most highly rated in Champagne.
