Established in 1998, Craggy Range is a family owned winery producing a collection of iconic wines from grapes grown on exceptional sites in Hawke’s Bay and Martinborough, New Zealand. From the stony, warm soils of the Gimblett Gravels vineyard in Hawke’s Bay to the volcanic, clay soils of the Te Muna Road vineyard in Martinborough, these revered vineyards produce profound wines of great longevity, purity and complexity.

winemakers comments

Martinborough Pinot Noir is crafted from a selection of vines grown on the ancient stony soils of the famed Martinborough and Te Muna terrace. Individual parcels are carefully selected for their varietal purity and distinctive regional character, resulting in a vibrant, fruit-driven wine with a silky, velvety texture. Limited new oak use and large cuves for ageing, create a wine with immediate drinkability and deliciousness.

vintage notes

The 2025 vintage began with a warm, dry spring, encouraging early vine development and good fruit set, resulting in higher yields. A cooler, more overcast summer slowed ripening, preserving delicate aromatics.

vinification

90% of the fruit was hand-harvested, carefully bunch sorted and destemmed into a combination of fermentation vessels, including stainless steel tanks and French oak cuvees. A mix of indigenous and selected yeasts guided fermentation. The wine spent an average of 14 days fermenting on skins before being pressed to French oak barriques (15% new) and larger closed-top French vats.

maturation

The wine was matured for 7 months before it was fined, filtered, and bottled late 2025.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
