A Cabernet blend made in a youthful, fruit-forward style that is very approachable as a young wine.
Reviews:
"This is a blend if cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, malbec and merlot. In a good year like this one, it offers some of the best value classy red wine going around. This is as good as any in this line. Plush red fruit of tremendous intensity. A firm core of tannin and oak holds it firm as the succulent fruit washes through. Such energy and vibrancy."
95 Points, Ray Jordan
"83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot,6% Malbec, 6% Petit Verdot.
Black and blue fruit, Guylian praliné seashells, some cedar and spice, mint, with a dried flower perfume. It’s medium-bodied, again something of that hazelnut chocolate, a seaweed savoury element, tannin has a light grainy grip, and the finish is a little bit toasty and pretty long. It’s a nice wine."
93 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
"The 2023 Amy’s blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Verdot, Malbc and Merlot is highly approachable at this young age with enveloping aromas of blackcurrant and gravel with a strong dark earth component. Excellent upfront imapct with a seamless core of dark berry fruits, primed with acidity and underpinned by fine, pliable tannins. A firm drying finish supports good longevity."
92 Points, Angus Hughson, Winepilot
"Amy’s is one of the trio of Moss Wood Cabernets. They are all single vineyard releases. To clarify, Amy’s is about 85% Cabernet with the balance of Petit Verdot, Malbec and Merlot.
And you can see the varietal synergies – Petit Verdot adding pepper and spices, Merlot and Malbec bringing plushness and rounded fruit.
It’s billed as the early drinking one. But make no mistake it has the tannins, body and quality to cellar nicely for 10 years."
