Lovely perfumes of flowers, fresh strawberries and raspberries follow through to a medium- A very classical style Barolo: elegance and velvety, with ripe and spicy fruit. Strong tannins, but elegant. Good structure and concentration.
Very long life.

Barolo Pio should not be considered as a “regular” Barolo! Our “multi-cru” interpretation represents the classic “formula” used by the ancient Barolo families to produce a wine which
embraces and combines each of the unique characteristics of the different terroirs of the appellation as a whole.
That’s why we do not consider our Barolo Pio, which doesn’t report on the label any indication of a single vineyard, because it is sourced from multiple terroirs, a “regular” wine or inferior in quality to a single vineyard one.
In order to reinforce our recipe and our philosophy we have decided to write on this label the name used since ever by our devoted public when referring to our Barolo: Barolo PIO!

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
