95 Points "Possibly the finest syrah (err, shiraz) out of this cooler, maritime region to date. That sounds like an underhanded compliment. Succinctly, this is excellent! Clove, black pepper grind, tapenade, violet and blood plum. The tannins, gritty and granular, yet finely wrought. Balletic, while straddling the gracious line of fruit and herb, glimpsing the excessive side of neither. The finish, excellent, with a dusting of Indian spice lingering long. Extract, freshness and savory drinkability in spades. Very Rhone-like. Drink or hold." Ned Goodwin MW - James Suckling.com

The Paringa single vineyard shiraz is the apex of quality. A site, which imparts power and elegance along with distinctive spice and dark fruit aromas, and a powerful savoury palate with blackberry and liquorice flavours. Fine-grained tannins provide excellent structure, power and weight and a very long finish. After fermentation in oak foudres, the wine was aged for 18 months new (40%) and seasoned French oak barriques.

Vintage & Winery Notes

Our single vineyard shiraz comes from the first vines planted on the estate in 1985. We only put our best fruit into this blend. After fermentation in oak foudres, the wine is aged for 15 months in new and seasoned oak.

It’s dark, brooding, and powerful! Aromas of liquorice and black pepper lead onto a dense palate, with an appealing core of juicy red and dark fruits, framed with lively acidity. A wine of outstanding concentration, purity and length.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
