The 2023 Aylward Reserve Pinot Noir is the ultimate expression of Ocean Eight’s signature varietal. Crafted from the finest vineyard parcels on the Mornington Peninsula, it delivers depth, complexity, and elegance that place it among the region’s most distinguished cool-climate reds.

The 2024 vintage reveals fragrant aromas of dark cherry, wild strawberry, and subtle spice. A silky palate of layered red fruits, fine tannins, and mineral undertones leads to a long, graceful finish. Built with both immediacy and longevity in mind, this wine will reward cellaring while offering remarkable poise when enjoyed now.

Presented as a 6-bottle pack, the Aylward Reserve Pinot Noir is a benchmark wine for collectors, connoisseurs, and those who seek the finest expression of Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir.

The grapes for this come from our best acre of vines out of our 17acres. The fruit is meticulously grown and cropped low to ensure high quality and intense concentration. The grapes are 100% de-stemmed and then put into fermentation vats at a low temperature to ensure a slow fermentation to maximise perfume and spice. After 2 weeks of fermentation the skins are pressed off and the wine is gravity fed in to large puncheon barrels of which 30% is new oak.

This was a low cropping year of excellent quality. A wine geared toward lovers of elegant fruit driven pinto noir. If you like Mornington Peninsula pinots then this is one of the highest quality and will not disappoint. There is a small volume of this wine so make sure to get some for the cellar. It will age beautifully for the next 10-12 years

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
