2024 Penfolds Reserve Bin A Chardonnay - 99 Points
Est. range:
Tax included.
OverviewReserve Bin A Chardonnay is a distinctive, single-region style – a contemporary and expressive Adelaide Hills Chardonnay. Fruit is hand-picked into small bins and then whole-bunch pressed. A portion of the juice is allowed to undergo a natural fermentation, without inoculation. Every new and seasoned French oak barrique is its own unique 225-litre ferment. Enhanced mouthfeel and complexity are achieved by fermenting and maturing on solids with regular yeast lees stirring (bâttonage). 100% malolactic fermentation.
The 2024 vintage extends upon the innovative Bin A legacy. An opulent white wine crafted with precision, it brings captivating stone fruit and spiced quince to the sweetness of fresh honeycomb in its creamy, luxurious finish.

Palate
The wine showcases a captivating phenolic grip, highlighting its well-structured body and thoughtful winemaking approach. A variety of flavours unfold gently. First, fresh orchard fruits, specifically white peach and spiced quince. A blend of warm spices, subtle bay leaf and the sharpness of green peppercorns intertwine with rich, nutty notes of white macadamia and smooth cashew paste. The sweetness of fresh honeycomb elevates the experience, resulting in a creamy and luxurious finish similar to nougat and panna cotta. A slight briny, saline note at the end refreshes the palate.

Buying At Auction?
Your Questions, Answered
What do you need from me to get started?
We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.
How many wines are in each Lot?
You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.
Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?
All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.
What are your freight charges?
Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.
Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
