2023 Stefano Lubiana Primavera Pinot Noir 750mL
Est. range:
Tax included.
Our Primavera Pinot Noir is mostly wild fermented, de-stemmed and taken off skins early to retain lots of fruit flavour. The grapes are hand picked, hand sorted and fermented with own yeasts and some whole bunches. Basket pressed after about 3 weeks. The result is a beautiful, soft red wine with natural medium body that has wonderful drinkability.
Steve & Monique Lubiana
Two of our vineyards contribute the fruit to our 2024 Primavera Pinot Noir. Majority of the fruit is yielded from our biodynamic vineyard in Granton located in the Derwent Valley. The other small portion of fruit is sourced from our Cradoc vineyard, in the heart of the Huon Valley. The Granton soil is varied with a gravel base covered in red loam with patches of riverbed silt, chalky soil, and in comparison the Cradoc soil is composite cobble stone over white clay. The mix of these terroirs gives this wine a beautiful balance flavour and silky tannin. Our Granton fruit offers layers of savoury notes while adding more structure to the palate. Whereas the fruit from our Cradoc vineyard has slower ripening, good structure and approachable tannins.
100% hand picked grapes are processed immediately. The fruit undergoes a portion of wild fermentaton in open and closed top fermenters with a mixture of whole bunch and destemmed fruit. The wine on skins is then drained and gently basket pressed using our 4 tonnes basket press before being barrelled down by gravity to the underground cellar filling our 225L French oak barriques and a small portion of larger format oak. The wine matures in these conditions until it is transferred to tank a month prior to bottling. Sulphur is kept low and little to no fining. Bottled in February 2025.
The 2024 Primavera Pinot Noir has a lifted nose which is alive with a combination of pronounced red fruits – dark cherries, raspberries, brambly mulberries followed by baking spice. The palate is generous with raspberry and cherry with good mid palate that has power and firm tannins. As a result together with its concentrated fruit characters this wine has great length and complexity. Enjoy now but this wine will reward you with maturation in cellar conditions and can be put down for 5+ years.

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.
What are your freight charges?

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
