A blend of 94% Shiraz and 6% Viognier the Descendant vineyard was planted with cuttings from one of the old Run Rig vineyards.

The Shiraz fruit is crushed on top of the Viognier from the same vineyard, which has been lightly pressed for blending with the Run Rig. The blend of fruit is then co-fermented and matured for 20 months in second fill French barrels that have been previously used for Run Rig. Dense pitch black core with a very deep black dark red hue. Exotically perfumed, aromas of dark plum and liquorice infused with hints of apricot and honeysuckle waft out of the glass followed by ripe black cherries, smoky vanillin cedar and spicy fennel. Silky, rich and powerful, decadent dark plum, liquorice and blackberry flavours saturate the mouth and provide it with a voluptuous textural feel. Hints of apricot, smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and spice add appeal as well as complexity.

Very smooth, velvet like tannins have a sturdy underbelly which provides ample structure. Exceptional length with a very long, hedonistic finish. Cellar 6-8 years. Alc. 14.5%

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
