2016 Château Rauzan-Ségla 2ème Grand Cru Classé 1855

Even before the glass is swirled, the nose releases notes of black fruit, subtly uplifted by spice. This tonality is confirmed when cherry and blackberry notes, accentuated by pink pepper, come through. A world then opens up. Scents of incense, roasted coffee, a touch of nutmeg and liquorice sticks from our childhood. The light fragrance of violets, the fresh scent of mint, and then, a taste of chocolate on the lips. The range is complex, built over a dense, tight and very precise body. There is no over ripeness and no heaviness, but a tautness throughout the wine's evolution. The flesh is firm and taut, and the tannins are also very precise. The Cabernet Sauvignon imprints all its density in a beautiful balance.

Buying At Auction?
Your Questions, Answered
What do you need from me to get started?
We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.
How many wines are in each Lot?
You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.
Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?
All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.
What are your freight charges?
Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.
Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
