Professional Reviews:

  • James Halliday – 99 Points:
"A truly majestic wine. Profound fruit purity, layered complexity, and impeccable balance define this vintage. The 2010 is among the finest Hill of Grace releases to date, with remarkable length and finesse. A benchmark for Australian Shiraz."

  • Wine Advocate (Lisa Perrotti-Brown) – 98 Points:
"The 2010 Hill of Grace is deep garnet-purple colored, and opens with aromas of black cherry compote, crushed blackberries, smoked meats, sandalwood, and Chinese five spice. Full-bodied with impressive structure and tightly wound fruit, it finishes very long and savoury. A wine of pedigree and poise."

  • Decanter – 97 Points:
"One of Australia's most iconic single-vineyard wines. The 2010 vintage showcases intensity without heaviness, with precise fruit, spice complexity, and a lifted floral elegance. Will age effortlessly for decades."

Region: Eden Valley, South Australia
Varietal: Shiraz
Alcohol: 14.5%
Cellaring: Now to 2035+

Tasting Note:

A wine of remarkable depth, elegance, and precision. The 2010 Hill of Grace Shiraz opens with an intense bouquet of dark forest berries, spiced plum, violets, and dried herbs, layered with hints of anise, cedar, and earthy undertones. The palate is powerful yet beautifully balanced, offering rich blackberry and mulberry fruit interwoven with fine-grained tannins, subtle oak influence, and vibrant acidity. A lingering finish reveals notes of black pepper, sage, and a trace of minerality, indicative of its ancient single-vineyard terroir. A wine that combines concentration with grace, offering exceptional cellaring potential.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
