Review 98/100

This is an amazing young wine with blackcurrant, iodine, oyster shell and tile. Crushed stone, too. Full-bodied, yet bright and linear, with great depth and intensity. Tensioned and formed with superb tannins. Framed and real. Speaks of the place. Give this four to five years of bottle age. One for the cellar. Try after 2027.

Overview

Established in 1993, the Spring Mountain District appellation sits above the town of St. Helena on the eastern slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains, which separate Napa Valley from Sonoma County. First crafted in 2005, the Lokoya Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is primarily sourced from three vineyards: the estate-owned Yverdon vineyard (2,100 feet), the Wurtele vineyard (1,000 feet) and Spring Mountain Vineyard (1,800 feet). Cool daytime temperatures, deficient soil and sharply inclined vineyard terraces combine to create ideal growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines from Spring Mountain express a signature floral perfume, deep red fruit flavors and smooth tannins.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
