100 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Robert Parker)
Matured for 32 months in new French oak. Astonishingly vibrant colour for a 5yo wine. The intensity of this 100% shiraz burns like an arc light across the senses, catching every nuance of the panoply of the purple and black fruits at the core of this remarkable wine. The balance and length are awesome, making a mockery of its alcohol.

In Scottish terminology, ‘The Laird’ refers to the Lord of the Manor. This single vineyard shiraz comes from an old vineyard in Marananga. This coveted fruit is aged in Dominique Laurent Barriques known as the “magic casks”
The Laird spends three years in this new oak giving an integration and oak profile once thought impossible. This vineyard is perfect in every way: southeast facing, dry grown, hand tended, traditionally farmed and pruned, on unique Western Barossa soil and planted with one of the original Barossa clones.
-------
Deep garnet colored with a touch of remaining purple at the rim, the 2012 The Laird is one of those wines you could just go on smelling all day. It opens with a complex perfume of kirsch, dried mulberries, blackberry tart and spice cake over cloves, mocha, dusty earth, incense, star anise, yeast extract and aged beef. The full-bodied palate is drop-dead seductive, unfurling in the mouth to reveal exotic spice, meat, earth and berry preserves layers, supported by firm, velvety tannins and seamless acid. The finish seems to go on forever—and this is exactly what you want it to do. Stunning.

Buying At Auction?
Your Questions, Answered
What do you need from me to get started?
We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.
How many wines are in each Lot?
You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.
Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?
All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.
What are your freight charges?
Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.
Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
