Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 99/100 Points

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2009 RunRig opens with wonderful perfume, and though this label usually contains a splash of Viognier, which could account for the fragrant nose, it has none this vintage. Redolent of violets and blueberries it is very spicy with an undercurrent of anise and Indian spices muddled with mulberries. Taut and elegant on the palate, it gives plenty of concentrated fruit flavor with crisp acid and firm, fine tannins. It finishes long. Drink it from 2016 to 2030+. - Feb 2013

James Halliday's Wine Companion - 95/100 Points

This is larger than life, super concentrated, black-fruited, dark and essency shiraz, befitting of maker David Powell; whilst the concentration is staggering, the underlying tannins and freshness provides length, complexity and interest. Make no mistake this is big end of town, take no prisoners old vine shiraz pushed to the limit. Date Tasted 15 Mar 2012. Drink by 2025.

Wine Spectator - 95/100 Points

Polished, ripe and seamless, playing out its layers and layers of dark berry, cherry, black olive and spice flavors on a rich, supple frame. The finish picks up mint and cream notes as it lingers effortlessly. A study in depth and opulence. Shiraz. Drink now through 2025. 288 cases imported. -HS Aug 31 2013.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
