Michaela Morris - Decanter

Exudes the gorgeous perfumes that permeate the entire range, reaching even greater complexity here. Pine, nutmeg, orange blossom and grapefruit peel lace the strawberry canvas. There is a joyful buoyance to the fruit as a blood orange juiciness streams through the palate. Tannins are fine, finessed and intricately embedded. As seductive as this is now, it promises more to come. The estate's Riservas were born with the new generation – Bruno’s children Luisa and Francesco. The latter is now at the winemaking helm. Made from two selected parcels, this sees a whole-berry fermentation with 50 days of maceration. Ageing is in 16-hectolitre French oak casks.

The 2020 Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Curra is a true expression of the Piedmont region in Italy. On the nose, aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherries and raspberries mingle with notes of violets and spice. The colour is a deep ruby red, hinting at the wine's complexity and depth. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and well-structured, with a perfect balance between tannins and acidity. Flavours of dark cherry, blackberry, and plum are complemented by hints of licorice and tobacco. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a satisfying warmth on the palate. This vintage from Bruno Rocca is a testament to their expertise and commitment to quality winemaking. Enjoy now or cellar for future enjoyment. Pair with hearty dishes such as roasted lamb or aged cheeses.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
