2017 Pierro Chardonnay
Est. range:
Private Sale- priced per LOT inc. GST (if applicable) and commission.
The 2017 Pierro Chardonnay from Margaret River, Australia, is a highly acclaimed, complex, and powerful white wine known for its balance of rich fruit (stone fruit, citrus, melon) with nutty, toasty oak, creamy texture, and persistent acidity, often showing notes of honey, spice, and minerality, offering excellent aging potential and scoring highly with critics. It's made with Burgundian techniques, including barrel fermentation in French oak, lees stirring, and malolactic fermentation, resulting in a wine that is both intense and elegant, building complexity with cellaring.
Refined, rich and powerful this a compelling Margaret River Chardonnay.
Brilliant very pale straw colour with a distinct glimmer of green to the edges and a watery hue. Intense aromatics of white peaches, ripe nectarine and dried honey blossom from the glass overlaid by biscuity oak and elements of gun flint. Subtle citrusy nougat and spice notes ensue. Refined and elegant yet at the same time delivering remarkable richness and power, the palate is engulfed with white peach, ripe nectarine and dried honey flavours which drive onto an exceptionally long finish. There’s a textural creaminess to the mid palate which is superbly counterpointed by perfectly integrated fresh acidity. Complexing elements of lightly roasted cashew, biscuit, subtle gun flint infusions and spicy nougat also chime in, adding further interest. Magnificent length with an aftertaste of white peaches, ripe nectarines, dried honey, infusions of gun flint, nougat and light spicy cashew that sails long on into the night. Outstanding.

Buying At Auction?
Your Questions, Answered
What do you need from me to get started?
We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.
How many wines are in each Lot?
You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.
Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?
All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.
What are your freight charges?
Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.
Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
