EXCEPTIONAL PARCEL RELEASE

Nose: The wine is perfumed with leaf and cassis bundled together with lovely depth. Whilst very savoury, the oak wafts through the background but never dominates and the vinous essence of the wine sits squarely in the centre.

Palate:On the palate the wine has tight and pronounced flavours of chocolate, red berries and black cherry skins with echoes of light tobacco and bramble on the finish. The tannins are fine and tight whilst the wine finishes on sandal-wood and cedar notes drifting over a core of blackcurrant, cherries and red apple skins.

Colour: At release, the wine immediately presents vivid ruby and crimson hues whilst its body is near enough to black.

Vintage Condition: In the Clare Valley, vintage 2009 was characterized by optimal growing conditions with warm days, cool nights and soil moisture levels at or near full capacity due to welcome rains in August 2008. Mild weather continued during December and January, gradually warming to a heat-wave. Strong canopies protected the fruit and mature leaves withstood the high temperatures. Fortunately, when the heat subsided the region entered a period of perfect ripening conditions once more and delivered exceptionally well balanced wines; showing rich, varietally pure fruit flavours.

Cellaring Notes: Immediately approachable but will cellar well in ideal conditions for up to 20 years from vintage date.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
