The wine was 100% barrel fermented and aged for 14 months in 85% new oak and 15% one year old oak. 90% of the oak was American and 10% was French. The 2005 vintage is now showing deep red with a purple rim. The wine in its infancy still shows a lifted and perfumed nose with traces of red plum, blackcurrant and cracked red peppercorn. The palate with all its freshness and luxurious, velvety tannins is so rich and concentrated, yet so reserved. It is a satisfying mixture of chocolate, aniseed and smoky oak. The copious layers are incredibly tightly bound and need time and careful cellaring to unleash the full potential of this wine. It is drinking well now and will cellar for many years

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
