2023-heirloom-adelaide-hills-tempranillo
2023 Heirloom Adelaide Hills Tempranillo

Dark and plush and vital. Crushed cherries and the kind of lifted nuttiness one gets from freshly slivered almonds. Speaking of nuts; kola nuts too, and sarsaparilla. There is a typically tempranillo herbal and blood background aroma, complete with all the undergrowth and bramble and blackberry in a ripe harvest sort of scene. Bucolic and perfectly so. The cherries continue and now the just-ripe plums enter stage right. There is a dry and drying fruit richness to this red wine. Dark and yet bright berry flavours. Tempranillo’s ever Iberian tannins keep all of this fruit abundance - no matter how savoury and sweet and sour - in check. It is a very Steve McQueen sort of wine. Cool…. Whilst drinking it, it looks at you. And says nothing…

Vintage: 2023

Varietal: Tempranillo

Brand: Heirloom Vineyards

Region: Adelaide Hills

Country: Australia

Pack Size: 750mL

Closure: Screw Cap

Alcohol: 14%

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0591/7674/7071/files/heirloom-vineyards-adelaide-hills-tempranillo-2017-med_19eb4d21-35f7-4602-86cb-74d6b8fef391.png?v=1791778259
