96 Points – James Halliday Wine Companion 2018 “90% shiraz and 10% durif (aka petite syrah), open-fermented, matured in new and used French and American oak. McLaren Vale on steroids? That's cruel, but this is as full-bodied and intense as a wine can be before becoming a caricature. Moreover, it's the black ironstone fruit that's so intense, not the tannins or the oak. The consequent balance means this wine can outlive most who lay it down now.”

93 Points – Wine Showcase Magazine, Oct 2016 “Nearly opaque violet colour. Fruity, floral aromas and flavours of chocolate berries and apricots, mocha, and butter roasted nuts with a satiny, tangy, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a tingling, amusing, medium-long chocolate orange peel, vanilla nuts, and marinated yams finish with moderate oak. A satiny, savoury, and somewhat cerebral shiraz with sumptuous fruit and subtle spiciness.”

Gold Medal/92 points – Tastings.com 4/7/2017 “Violet colour. Creamy, funky aromas and flavours of berry crème brulee and chocolate mint toffee with a silky, bright, fruity medium to-full body and a graceful, delightful, medium-long berry jam on cinnamon toast, pepper, and nuts finish with well-integrated, silky tannins and moderate oak. A sensuously sumptuous Shiraz that is sure to satisfy.”

Gold Medal – Winemaker Challenge 2017 (USA)
-
4½ Stars – Winestate Magazine World’s greatest Syrah/Shiraz Challenge XII “A complex savoury/gamey combination of aromas. The Generous palate starts fruity and sweet but finishes quite savoury. Still very youthful. Needs time.”

Buying At Auction?
Your Questions, Answered
What do you need from me to get started?
We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.
How many wines are in each Lot?
You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.
Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?
All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.
What are your freight charges?
Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.
Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
