  • 94 points – James Halliday’s Wine Companion 2017. P. 754-755 “95% shiraz, 5% petite Syrah from McLaren Vale, open and closed fermenters, matured for 18 months in new and used hogsheads. Deep, gleaming inky purple; all about hedonism: this bypasses the head, travelling through the heart and establishing a lasting friendship with the stomach. It’s the outcome of some very clever winemaking.”

Other Accolades

  • Trophy & Double Gold Medal - China Wine & Spirits Awards Best Value 2016

  • 93 points – Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, 1st September 2016, thewinefront.com.au “95% shiraz, 5% petit syrah from McLaren Vale. One for the lovers of a Big Red. It's a hulking wine. High alcohol, high impact, the throttle pulled out. Asphalt, toast, dark chocolate, and blackberry, with saltbush notes infused throughout. Plenty of tannin, both grainy and ripe; grunty. A warm-the-cockles style but with a hard-stare seriousness. You have to excuse a bit of alcohol warmth and prefer your reds to be on the old-school side of town, but in that light, this packs an impressive punch.”
  • Gold Medal/93 points – Tastings World Wine Championships “Black garnet colour. Lively, savoury aromas and flavours of roasted peppers, dried mulberries, leather, and hung game with a satiny, lively dryish medium-to-full-body and a smooth, complex, long pomegranates, over dried tomato, crème brulee, and nuts and cedar finish with well-integrated, chewy earthy tannins and moderate oak. A seriously poise and structured shiraz blend that drinks like an old-world Rhone wine.”

  • 92 Points - James Suckling 3rd February 2016, “A bold and rich red that marries these two compatible varieties effortlessly. Plenty of dark cassis and blood plum, chocolate, mocha, and liquorice, gently peppery too. It’s a big wine.”

  • 91 Points – Tastings.com 20/04/2015 “Nearly opaque black, violet colour. Delicate, toasty, fruity aromas of toffee and black raspberry torte with a silky, lively, drying medium-to-full body and a warming, complex, medium-long spiced nuts, herb roasted root vegetables, pomegranate, and bacon finish with well-integrated tannins. A supple, enticingly dry red blend that will pair well at the table.”

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
