96/100 points - Robert Parker Jnr

The 2002 Shiraz The Bogan, which is aged 22 months in American oak before being bottled unfiltered, is a spectacular, classic example of Barossa Shiraz. An inky/purple color is accompanied by a huge bouquet of white flowers, toast, blackberry liqueur, blueberries, and creosote. Packed with intensely concentrated black fruits and a spicy complexity, it is the antithesis of elegance. While still an infant in terms of development, it is hard to know for sure, but I suspect it will become more civilized and elegant as it evolves, and should last for 15-20+ years.

Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate #155

James Halliday's Wine Companion - 94 pts - Deep, intense colour; extremely powerful and concentrated; huge black fruits, huge tannins and masses of extract; will live forever if the cork holds. Mega 15.5 ° alcohol. Date tasted 30 Dec 2004

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
